According to reports, the China Earthquake Network recently released news after accurate measurement, at 7:58 am on April 3, located in the waters near Hualien County, Taiwan (23.81 degrees north latitude, 121.74 degrees east longitude), a strong earthquake occurred, the magnitude of 7.3, the focal depth of 12 kilometers.
据报道，近日中国地震台网经过精确测定后发布消息称，在4月3日早晨7点58分，位于台湾花莲县附近的海域（北纬23.81度，东经121.74度）发生了一次强烈的地震，震级达到了7.3级，震源深度为12千米。
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the ocean area, about 14 kilometers from the island of Taiwan at its closest point. Due to the strong shaking of the earthquake, the whole island of Taiwan felt the obvious earthquake, Fujian, Guangdong, and other places also felt the significant impact of the earthquake, and even Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, and other distant areas also had the feedback of the earthquake.
此次地震的震中位置位于海洋区域，距离台湾岛最近的地点大约14公里。由于地震的强烈震动，台湾全岛都感受到了明显的震感，福建、广东等地也感受到了显著的地震影响，甚至浙江、江苏、上海等较远地区也有震感的反馈。
Upon further analysis, it was found that the average elevation within 5 kilometers of the epicenter was about -3,560 meters. The epicenter is 22 kilometers from Shoufeng Township, 24 kilometers from Ji 'a Township, and 26 kilometers from Hualien City.
经过进一步的分析发现，震中5公里范围内的平均海拔约为-3560米。而震中距离寿丰乡有22公里，距离吉安乡为24公里，距离花莲市26公里等。
It is worth mentioning that according to the statistics of the China Earthquake Network catalog, there have been 256 earthquakes of magnitude 4 or more in the past five years within 200 kilometers of the epicenter, and this earthquake is the largest of them.
值得一提的是，根据中国地震台网速报目录的统计数据显示，近5年来在震中周边200公里范围内共发生了256次4级以上的地震，而本次地震则是其中最大的一次。
