Guzheng
The guzheng is an amazing Chinese traditional instrument that’s been around for more than 2,000 years. It's like the grandparent of all stringed instruments, and when you play it, it feels like you’re connecting with history itself. The guzheng has 21 strings (though some versions have fewer or more), and you pluck the strings with your fingers or with a plectrum. The sound it produces is so beautiful—it can be soft and peaceful or loud and dramatic, depending on how you play.
At first, when I tried playing the guzheng, I felt a little clumsy. The strings were so long, and my fingers weren’t used to the different movements.
